All Through 2015, It's a Kākou Thing for "Proud to Be '73"
PTB73, we are turning 60 this year! So there’s a lot for us to celebrate. Here is an update on things we’re hoping to organize in 2015, and a request that if anything on this list jumps out at you as something you’d be comfortable volunteering to lead, the entire class would appreciate your leadership!
FEBRUARY: Saturday, February 14, Valentines Day celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. at the ‘Ōlelo Room at the Aulani -- featuring Tony Conjugacion (Class of 79). Your $10 ticket includes parking and two drinks. Register through the alumni office (808) 842-8560.
MARCH: Friday, March 20, The 2015 Kamehameha Schools Song Contest. Please mark your calendars! We are inquiring as to whether Pauahi Foundation will host an off-site event again. Meanwhile, if anyone would like to volunteer to organize a PTB73 Song Contest event, please contact one of us!
MAY: Inter-Island Cruise Canceled! Anyone up for Chop Suey Night? What could be better luck for our 60th birthday than a Class Chop Suey Night in May – certainly on Oahu, but perhaps on Kaua’i, Moloka’i, Maui and Hawai’i as well. Let us know what you think about the idea, recommended locations – or, to volunteer to organize one of the birthday events.
JUNE: The 99th King Kamehameha Celebration includes lei draping on June 12 and the floral parade on June 13. We are looking for your ideas, experience and leadership on this one!
AUGUST: Saturday, August 22 is the Relay for Life of Kamehameha ‘Ohana at Konia Field on the Kapalama Campus. Elliot Pulham has again volunteered to lead the PTB73 Relay for Life team.
OCTOBER: Las Vegas, anyone? The Intermountain Regional Chapter of the Kamehameha Alumni Association is considering once again hosting an “All Classes” gathering in Las Vegas in October. Let us know if you’d be interested in a Las Vegas event in October – with other classes, or on our own!
DECEMBER: Founders Day activities wrap up the year in mid December. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
